Winter is well and truly here and what better way to spend a chilly night than with great company and plenty of warmth and informative discussion (not to mention a good glass of wine) at the series of business events: “Moving Upwards” down at The Rocks : a new and innovative creative hub, Pop Up Projects.
In this conducive and highly innovative space accessing talent and mastery of various skills and ideas, three entrepreneurial ladies have combined their strong talents to create a series of Seminars at the Pop Ups. This is entitled: “Moving Upwards Business Series” addressing three chosen topics: to illuminate some of the exciting and challenging aspects of starting a business on July 27, the key to a sustainable business on August 31 and the final one being all about the psychology of happiness on September 28.
The first event is entitled: “Emerging Businesses” and focuses on how to successfully implement and run a business from early stages. The second on the series is “Sustainable Businesses” focussing on the nature of the sustainable business model and how it works in this competitive and busy commercial environment to make a genuine difference in creating a better world. The third is “the Psychology of Happiness” whereby discussion is led by a panel of psychologists and counsellors who specialise in making people feel good about themselves and their place in the world.
In each event there will be a panel of three speakers – to be announced – all professionals in their field who will elaborate on their chosen topics and later field questions from the audience. They will make their speeches lively, informative and full of anecdotes, tips, ideas and resources for individuals to take away.

What better environment for this to take place than the Vault, 47 George St, where one of the Pop Up Projects is located. Guests will have the chance to mingle around the shops and buy the wonderful creatively designed products on offer. The chance to be part of a six month endeavours where the The Rocks is coming alive with creative pursuits by entrepreneurs, designers, writers, artisans and characters in four exciting heritage venues.
As Belinda Stinson, of Creatively Belle, a jewellery design shop says: “I’m loving being part of a group of creative women and men who love designing and making but are just as driven as an entrepreneur as I am,” says Belinda.
“I’m so used to working in a small team of just 1 – 3 people from home during the week that being able to be part of a project that is full of like minded and motivated people is liberating.”
